After the launch of OnePlus 12, the company is expected to release its new member, OnePlus 13, soon. While the company has not officially announced anything yet, rumours have been making rounds on the internet. In the latest leak, a tipster shared a sketch of the cover, indicating a revamped camera module. According to the post, shared on Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus 13 will feature a quad-camera module. Previous leaks also suggest that the OnePlus 13 could be one of the first phones to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The OnePlus 13 could hit the market in October this year, just 10 months after the release of its predecessor, the OnePlus 12.
A new design: According to a recent leak, the rumoured OnePlus 13 has surfaced in images showing it encased in what seems to be a protective cover. While the OnePlus 12 and its predecessor both featured a similar camera design, the next flagship model is expected to showcase a redesigned camera island, marking a shift in the phone’s aesthetic.
Display: On the display front, the OnePlus 13 is rumoured to keep the same 2K resolution screen that has become standard in recent flagship models. This would ensure crisp visuals, whether you’re watching videos or playing games. Another interesting addition could be an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which would provide faster and more secure unlocking than the optical fingerprint sensors found in most smartphones today.
Powerful processor: The rumour has it that OnePlus will be pushing the envelope, with a move to 24GB of RAM promising enhanced performance, especially in areas like AI and gaming on the upcoming OnePlus 13 smartphone. Increased RAM generally improves multitasking capabilities, allowing phones to run more efficiently and deliver smoother performance, particularly beneficial for power users who handle intensive tasks.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 is also rumoured to be one of the first phones powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. This chipset is said to offer substantial improvements over its predecessor. If OnePlus manages to secure this chip for the OnePlus 13, it could easily become one of the most powerful devices on the market.
Upgraded camera: According to the speculations, the OnePlus 13 will feature an upgraded periscope camera sensor. Although no further specifics about the camera hardware were provided, it’s noted that the upcoming OnePlus device will utilise the same image processing algorithm as the rumoured Oppo Find X8 series, expected to launch in China next month.
With the addition of this improved periscope camera, Oppo’s image processing software, and OnePlus’ partnership with Hasselblad, the OnePlus 13 is poised to be one of the most competitive smartphones in terms of photography, at least on paper.
Previous reports indicate that the OnePlus 13 will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with a Sony LYT-808 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom for enhanced photography versatility.
